On the nonnegative inverse eigenvalue problem of traditional matrices
In this paper, at first for a given set of real or complex numbers $sigma$ with nonnegative summation, we introduce some special conditions that with them there is no nonnegative tridiagonal matrix in which $sigma$ is its spectrum. In continue we present some conditions for existence such nonnegative tridiagonal matrices.
متن کاملParameters Related to Tree-Width, Zero Forcing, and Maximum Nullity of a Graph
Tree-width, and variants that restrict the allowable tree decompositions, play an important role in the study of graph algorithms and have application to computer science. The zero forcing number is used to study the maximum nullity/minimum rank of the family of symmetric matrices described by a graph. We establish relationships between these parameters, including several Colin de Verdière type...
متن کاملSome results on the symmetric doubly stochastic inverse eigenvalue problem
The symmetric doubly stochastic inverse eigenvalue problem (hereafter SDIEP) is to determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for an $n$-tuple $sigma=(1,lambda_{2},lambda_{3},ldots,lambda_{n})in mathbb{R}^{n}$ with $|lambda_{i}|leq 1,~i=1,2,ldots,n$, to be the spectrum of an $ntimes n$ symmetric doubly stochastic matrix $A$. If there exists an $ntimes n$ symmetric doubly stochastic ...
متن کاملSpectral graph theory and the inverse eigenvalue problem of a graph
Spectral Graph Theory is the study of the spectra of certain matrices defined from a given graph, including the adjacency matrix, the Laplacian matrix and other related matrices. Graph spectra have been studied extensively for more than fifty years. In the last fifteen years, interest has developed in the study of generalized Laplacian matrices of a graph, that is, real symmetric matrices with ...
